Good shyt Fishnets Fatale... :)

Truly though, even though hip-hop has come a long way, it's still evolving as a hole. We are still discovering new territory even 2008, so all of the real questions haven't been answered just yet. Give it another 10 or 15 years, then lets look back at these topics.

Rapping is like boxing, most folks don't quit until they are pushed out of the business. It's hard for most rappers and boxers to admit that they just don't have it anymore. There is a deep feeling of self-satisfaction and love that goes along with doing both activities that just can't be replaced with a simple 9 to 5 in many cases. Even though we all know that their careers will end sooner than later. I feel that along as you are making good music, keep doing your thing until you are ready to stop, if you can afford it...

I totally agree that rap pushes these 'old rappers' out but old according to whom, the rap audience? Am I going to be 50 plus and listening to Doggystyle and Illmatic and talking shit about new rappers not being like they used to be. Sort of like old school Peops talking about R&B and just spinning their old records instead of listening to new artists that come out. I feel thats how this thing is going to go. Sucks though that a Rapper cant rap forever maybe because the shit they rap about is fantasy type ish instead of real life day to day shit(word to Blu) , I bet if a rapper was more forthcoming and personal while still displaying lyrical dexterity and dope beats, dude could probably hold an audience for as long as he spit. At the end of the day I would still go see Nas or the Camel perform they songs even if they are 50. Who Knows maybe the Camel will get a 30 Million dollar a year gig to Spit in Vegas Nightly, Word to Celin Dion! Anything Can happen

good post Greenie and while for the most part I agree, I think 30 is a more realistic cut off, shit theres so much shit out there today you might not get noticed till your 24,25, even 28 years old.

Also some people should be able to keep rapping passed their 30's cause some aren't attention grabbing whores. They just wanna rap, make good music and connect with their fans, people like Ghostface specifically that guy still bring top notch quality music every album and his fans still anxiously await his new music. Rappers should be able to stay rapping if for now other reason people who grew up listening to them still wanna hear what they have to say, what they need to do is fall back from trying to hog the spotlight and make way and help and appreciate the young cats coming in, well some of them anyway.

If you were to tell me I could never hear another rap album from the people I grew up on ( who are all well over 30 now I might just stop listening to all new rap altogether just in protest )
